So, my good friend 'S' is leaving this week.I had invited her family over for dinner. This traditional maharashtrian appetizer was on the menu.
3 cups chopped cilantro along with stems
1 cup Gram flour/besan
1/4 cup rice flour
1/2tbsp wheat flour
1tbsp roasted Sesame seeds
1 tsp finely chopped green chilies
1tsp ginger garlic paste
1tsp poppy seeds
1/2tbsp lemon juice
1/4tsp Baking soda
1/2tsp turmeric powder
1/2tsp garam masala
salt and sugar to taste
oil for greasing the pans and frying.
1) Mix all ingredients and make batter like 'cake batter' consistency
2) Oil two 6 inch pans.Pour the batter in the pans.
3) Steam in a pressure cooker (without pressure) for 20-25 mins.
4) Let it cool.Cut into wedges
